Hey everyone!  I'm very excited to share with you the final product of the project I have been working on for many months now in conjunction with my wife.  She has officially joined me here at KronosProps as a painter and is responsible for all of the amazing weathering on this project.  We present to you, a fully realized Gears of War 3 Digger Launcher.

I'll be adding a full writeup here in a few weeks on how this was built but for the time being if you would like to see how it was made, head on over to Instructables and check out my 'How To' on the construction of this beast, link below.  While you're there I would greatly appreciate it if you could vote for my project in the Make It Real contest.  You can login to vote using your Facebook account.  Please let us know what you think!

There are also many more high res photos on both my flickr page and my wife's page.  We each have different photos up so definitely check out both links!!

I gotta know, how much does it weigh? Looks like I could hurt myself with it.

Well done, the final fit and finish is mindblowing!!

  1. Beautiful! Seriously awesome to see this as a real object. You nailed the colors, scratches, paint drips, glows!

Going to make the lil chomper? :)

It's really great to know one of the artists responsible for this gun approves of the job we did on it. I almost made one of the little guys to go with the gun but ran out of time. It's not out of the question though!!!

Wow. Ryan, that's magnificent work by both of you. Kudos!

I am the guy who PM'd you last night at the RPF, by the way. I saw that you're still posting there and wanted to let you know I am not a random troll - the site really is being run at present by a Russian hacker, in fact it's a clone of the real RPF. The guy hacked GMail and got hold of the complete database *and* spoofed the domain name registrar. Google the story, you should still find it reported here and there, e.g. the RPF's Facebook page.

The real forum is safe and sound and you can find it as I indicated. It's a LOT busier than the Russian clone, too, I am happy to report! Do stay away from the fake site; the guy is a crook and is raking in the ad revenue, may also be distributing viruses.

    Cheers,
    Martyn
